About The Artist

Jill Woodward was born in 1961 in Stuart, Iowa.  She has been an artist since childhood; entering her first art show at the age of four years.  Jill attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa to major in art and psychology.  In 1986 she earned a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of South Dakota and has spent the last 20+ years working as a children’s mental health therapist.

 

In 2001 she renewed her interest in painting and began sharing her art with the public.  Since then she has participated in many juried shows and exhibits.  Children are the inspiration for her paintings.  She enjoys painting them in everyday situations that honor the simplicity they enjoy.  She strives to create paintings that radiate a compelling kindness and serenity.
